How do I delete my account?

Membership & payments

What does a membership include?

Members can read every members-only story, and some plans also switch adverts off. The plans and what each one includes are on the membership page. Your membership pays for our fact-check desk.

Why can I only read some stories?

Most stories are free. Stories marked Members are open to members; everyone else gets a few of them free each month, and the counter at the top of the story shows how many are left.

Does my membership renew automatically?

No. Each payment covers a fixed period, and we email you three days before it ends. Nothing is taken from your card or UPI without you paying again. If you pay before the end, the new period starts when the current one finishes โ€” you never lose days.

I was charged but my membership isn't active

Payments are confirmed with the bank or gateway, which usually takes seconds but can take a few minutes. If it still isn't active after 15 minutes, open a request with the time of the payment and the last digits of the UPI or card reference. If you were charged twice we refund the extra payment.

How do follows and alerts work?

Corrections & standards

I think a story is wrong. What do I do?

Use Report a correction at the bottom of the story, or the support page. Tell us what is wrong and, if you can, how you know. The request goes straight to the fact-check desk. When we correct a story we say so at the end of it.

How do you check stories before publishing?

Every story needs evidence before it can go to an editor, and the fact-check desk ticks off each claim before it is marked verified. Nothing is published without that step. Read the full fact-check policy.

Contributors

How can my organisation publish news here?

Organisations apply on the contribute page after signing in. Your work email must match your organisation's website. Once approved, your members can send news with evidence; it goes through the same fact-check as our own reporting, and is labelled with your organisation's name.

Privacy & data

What do you record when I visit?

We count visits with our own privacy-first analytics: no tracking cookies, and your IP address is never stored โ€” visitors are counted with a code that changes every day. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, we don't count you at all. Advertising and Google Analytics tags only load if you accept them in the cookie banner.
